MG Talent Advisors was founded by Matt Gombos, who had a successful career at three leading hedge funds for almost two decades. He is an accomplished executive focused on driving an organization’s goal to attract, acquire, and retain top talent. He is a strategic problem solver and hands-on leader who partners with his clients and brings innovative solutions to growing organizations.

Matt spent more than a decade at AQR Capital Management as an HR Business Partner and Head of Front Office Recruiting. He then built upon those experiences at WorldQuant as the Head of Talent Acquisition, where he led a team that built out offices in the US, Hungary, and Vietnam.

Most recently, Matt was the Global Head of Talent Acquisition and Learning at Schonfeld Strategic Advisors. He built a team of talent acquisition professionals that hired individuals for all functional areas across the globe. Additionally, he ran Sapphire, the firm’s learning platform, and served on the Management Committee.

Having such a diverse background within the hedge fund industry gives Matt unique insight to effectively build programs to attract and retain excellent talent. Over his career, he has developed connections with many individuals in the industry that he can tap into. His goal is to leverage his success, experience, and network to help growing firms excel through their talent.
